HMCourses ("we", "our", "us") operates hmcourses.com and provides online courses and learning content. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or purchase and use our courses, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Email address. When you make a purchase, contact support, or use the "Find Your Purchase" flow, we may collect your email address to confirm your purchase, send your access code, and provide support.
- Contact form details. Your name, email address, and the message you send us when you contact support.
- Course progress. When you use a course, we save your progress (for example, completed lessons and interactive answers) so you can pick up where you left off.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data. We may collect basic technical information such as browser type, device type, IP address, and the pages you visit, to operate and improve the service.
- Cookies. We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the service working and to remember simple preferences. See section 7 below.
Payment information
We do not store full payment card details. Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider, under their own privacy and security practices. We receive from Stripe only the information needed to confirm your purchase, such as the payment outcome and the customer reference we created for your order.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and confirm your purchases;
- Deliver the courses and features you paid for;
- Send purchase confirmations, access codes, and important service emails;
- Respond to support requests and messages you send us;
- Maintain, secure, and improve the service;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process personal information on one or more of the following bases:
- Contract. Processing necessary to provide the course or service you purchased;
- Legitimate interests. Running and improving the service, preventing fraud, and responding to support requests;
- Consent. Where you have asked us to send you something or otherwise given permission;
- Legal obligation. Where we must keep or share information to comply with the law.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Payment processing. With Stripe, solely to process your payment and manage your order (see section 6);
- Service providers. With providers that help us operate the service, such as email delivery and hosting providers, bound by confidentiality obligations;
- Legal requirements. If required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect our rights, the safety of our users, or the public;
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, sale, or transfer of assets, where the receiving party continues to honor this Privacy Policy.
5. Access to Your Purchases
Your orders and the email address associated with them are used to let you regain access to courses you have purchased. When you use the "Find Your Purchase" flow on our homepage, a one-time access code is sent to your email address, and once verified we show you the orders associated with that address.
6. Payment Processing
Payments are handled by Stripe, Inc. When you pay, the payment details you enter are transmitted directly to Stripe and are governed by their privacy policy. We receive only the confirmation data needed to complete your order, and we never see or store your full card number, security code, or related full payment data.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for the basic operation of the service, such as remembering preferences and keeping the site secure. We do not use cookies for advertising or to build advertising profiles about you. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the service may not work as intended without them.
8. Data Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy:
- Orders. Kept for the duration of your access to the purchased courses and, where required, for accounting and tax purposes afterwards;
- Contact requests. Kept only as long as needed to address your request and, if relevant, maintain a support history;
- Access codes. One-time codes are stored only briefly and are deleted once used or expired;
- Course progress. Kept so you can resume your learning.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements;

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 15. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
10. Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction, including encryption in transit, access controls on our systems, and limited staff access to personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's Privacy
The service is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
12. International Transfers
The service may be operated from servers located outside the country where you live. Your information may therefore be processed in other jurisdictions. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards to protect information transferred internationally.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as a notice on the website. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
